Modern Apprentice Chef (2 years FTC)

ERSKINE has been caring for Veterans for over 100 years.  Our four purpose built Care Homes provide quality care of the elderly in a homely environment.  We currently have an opportunity for the following in the Erskine Home, Bishopton:

Modern Apprentice Chef

37.5 hours per week – including weekend work

                                                    (2 Year Fixed Term Contract)

16 – 19 Years Old (Prior to 31 December 2018)

Salary £12,416 per annum

In your role as a Modern Apprentice Chef, you will work with the Catering Team, within the Erskine Home, learning about maintaining food safety in a kitchen environment, preparing, cooking and finishing food dishes.

You will be supported by an experienced member of staff as well as receive valuable on-the-job training to compliment your learning as you complete your Modern Apprenticeship.

National 4 - 5s (including English), or the equivalent Standard Grades 1 -3 are essential for this role. A good knowledge of Microsoft Office packages and general IT skills are also required. The successful candidate must be willing to complete a SVQ in Professional Cookery during their 2-year apprenticeship.

Interviews will be held in August, and the successful candidate will start their apprenticeship in September 2018.
