We provide a wide range of support services including fostering, residential, community and family support. We also provide specialist educational support through our schools and colleges. Pearce Lodge in Hazel Grove provides care and support to four young people who have physical and/or learning needs. They are currently recruiting for Waking Night Support Workers for full and part time opportunities to support the services users throughout the night. This is a rewarding role where you will see the positive difference you can make every day.

As Waking Night Care Assistant (Community Support Worker) you will join a dedicated team who provide a high standard of care and support to our young people, some who are high dependency.  The role is incredibly diverse and will include the following responsibilities;

  • Getting to know the service users and their interests and needs
  • Giving personal care, for instance, washing, personal hygiene, changing pads, dressing, hair and make-up
  • Administering medication
  • Percutaneous endoscopic gastrostomy (PEG)feeding
  • Food Preparation and support with meal times
  • Carrying out general tasks like housework and planning for the next day
  • Giving emotional and practical support
  • Moving and Handling
  • First Aid

One of our service users has additional needs and requires additional support such as;

  • Ventilation Management
  • Cough Assist
  •  
  • Tracheotomy care

The pay grade displayed for this post is determined in line with the NJC job evaluation scheme. Please note that regardless of experience or qualifications, all new Together Trust staff will start on the first pay-point of the relevant pay grade.  Within each pay grade there are six points. Staff will progress from point to point on an annual basis providing that they meet the criteria set in the Together Trust pay policy.

You will receive full training and support for the role, however, we would prefer that you have some experience of providing care at this level, whether within a care home, hospital or home care/domiciliary setting. As part of Together Trusts commitment to our staff and service users, any new recruits will be required to undertake pre-employment checks and a tailored training programme before commencing their role.
