Senior Commissioning and Policy Officer

£38,925 – £42,918.00 depending on experience

The role of Senior Commissioning and Policy Officer is an exciting opportunity to join an innovative and ambitious team to support a wide range of commissioning and policy work.

The Police & Crime Commissioner (PCC) has wide ranging responsibilities for setting the priorities and budget of the Constabulary, holding the Chief Constable to account for delivery of the Police and Crime Plan. The PCC also has wider responsibilities across criminal justice and community safety and commissions a wide range of services for both victims and offenders in order to support delivery of the Plan.

An opportunity has arisen in the Office of the Police & Crime Commissioner for a Senior Commissioning and Policy Officer to lead on and deliver a range of commissioned services to improve the outcomes for the residents of Avon & Somerset. Current areas of focus include commissioning services to support victims of crime and anti-social behaviour, reducing reoffending and mental health.

We are looking for someone with a background in commissioning, who is able to work in a high profile and fast paced environment.

Educated to degree level or equivalent, you will have an aptitude in commissioning, scrutiny work, developing initiatives and preparation of briefing documents. Confident, innovative and flexible, you will have excellent strategic and communication skills.
