Management Accountant

We have a new opportunity, not to be missed! YMCA Birmingham is currently looking for a Management Accountant to join our team based in Aston, Birmingham. You will join us on a full time, permanent basis working 35 hours per week and in return you will receive a salary of £35,000 per annum.

YMCA Birmingham is a Christian charity providing a range of life-changing services for the local community. With a turnover of over £4m, we house over 300 young people, most of whom previously were homeless, and support them to get their lives back on track. We also care for 150 pre-school children in our three nurseries and run various social enterprises to create employment and generate income for our charitable work.

The Management Accountant Role:

Supporting our Head of Finance, you will play a pivotal role in preparing the monthly management accounts of the YMCA Group and its subsidiary, meeting with budget holders regularly to understand financial performance and providing advice and solutions as necessary.  You will have a keen eye for detail, the ability to spot trends and competence in interrogating financial information.

The role will also entail supporting the Head of Finance in the preparation of annual statutory accounts and budgets and the successful post holder will be experienced in both areas. An understanding of VAT processes will be essential.

To be successful in the Management Accountant role, you will need:

- An ability to multi-task and perform well to deadlines.

- Have a methodical, organised approach to your work.

- Be able to build positive working relationships with internal and external customers and colleagues.
