We have an exciting 4-6 Month Fixed Term Contract opportunity for a Communications Analyst to join the Internal Communications Team in Edinburgh.

The purpose of the role will be to support the Head of Group Internal Communications and the rest of the team as they look to deliver a suite of strong and effective integrated internal channels as part of the agreed internal communications strategy.

Responsibilities:

  • To support the Head of Group Internal Communications and the rest of the Internal Communications team by project managing (as directed) specific tasks and activities in support of our agreed internal communications strategy.
  • Specifically, to provide a support service for delivery of content across various digital channels including

    • Hub (Intranet) and OneLan (digital signage) content development, updates and publishing including dedicated portals for groups of employees such as Leaders
    • Owning and delivering the weekly Connect digital newsletter
    • Supporting delivery of the monthly Leaders eBulletin digital newsletter
    • Supporting creation and publication of news items and maintaining a forward news scheduler for the Group
    • Owning and managing the Group Internal Communications mailbox
    • Managing - as directed - the creation and publication of video content for Group Internal Communications and the wider Group, liaising with external suppliers
  • To also provide a support service for other channels, as directed. Channels include:

    • Supporting delivery of HR and other projects into the Group (and across the People Function) as directed
    • Supporting delivery of the Annual Employee Roadshows and other set piece F2F programmes as directed
    • Specifically providing content management services (PowerPoint) for key set piece events such as Annual Employee Roadshow and Leadership events
    • Together with the Channels Manager, owning templates for content approval and communications planning within the team
  • Owning the process for designing and delivering internal posters across the Group

Attributes, Skills & Qualifications:

This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands on experience working in a fast paced Internal Communications team within Financial Services; gaining exposure to a variety of tasks, developing knowledge whilst adding value and providing essential support to the team.

The successful candidate will ideally possess a Degree in Marketing, Communications or equivalent, be available to commence work at short notice and be willing to commit to the duration of this contract.

  • Strong planning, project management and time management skills
  • Ability to prioritise multiple tasks within tight timescales
  • Flexible/pragmatic approach to work/projects
  • Experience of communications
  • Experience of and interest in web design and development
  • Experience and interest of working with multi-media such as Video, Photoshop and InDesign
  • Experience of using content management systems (such as Episerver)
  • Some experience of HTML would be beneficial
  • A good understanding of social media
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Office, especially PowerPoint
  • Graphic design experience
  • Excellent written and verbal skills
