Accounts Assistant

This is a great time to join a Peterborough firm as an Accounts Assistant being responsible for a broad range of clients, including partnerships, trusts, sole traders and companies, covering industries such as manufacturing, property development and consultancy services.

This role is mainly office based, however you should be flexible as some clients may require you to carry out work at their premises if necessary.

You will provide the following services to clients:

- preparation of management and financial accounts
- preparation of quarterly VAT returns
- maintenance of client accounting records
- contacting clients to retrieve essential data or information
- visiting clients off site and carrying out audit tests
- completion of personal tax and corporate tax returns
- completion of ad hoc duties as instructed by managers or partners

You will have a strong knowledge of management and financial accounting and a great ability to use Excel and Word is essential with a knowledge of Sage, KeyPrime, Farmplan as well as CCH AP would be advantageous.

You will either be AAT qualified with 2 years of practice experience in an accountancy firm, or partway ACA/ACCA qualified with a stable background at an accountancy firm. You will also have a strong academic background in Maths.

This position is offering a competitive salary of £22000-£28000 dependant on experience and qualifications.
