Our client is a large, and growing, specialist land-based College, with centres throughout Yorkshire, Cumbria and the Tees Valley.
They now have an opportunity available for a Learning Resources Assistant to join them on a part-time basis, assisting the Learning Resources Manager (LRM) and team in creating an information environment that supports, facilitates and enhances the teaching, learning, research and business activities of the College
Responsible for staffing the Learning Resources Centre (LRC) at weekends and ensuring correct procedures are followed, you will deal with users’ enquiries, help them to identify the most suitable learning materials and ensure that the LRC remains an environment conducive to learning. You must also carry out basic library support (issuing and returning books and re-shelving) and carry out routine administrative duties as required by the Learning Resources Manager.
Working hours for this role are as follows: 10 hours per week (term-time only)
Saturday – 12.30pm – 5.30pm
Sunday – 12.30pm – 5.30pm
Candidates for this role will have experience of working in a library or information environment, of using Microsoft Office and working without supervision. Customer focused with good written and verbal communication skills, you will be able to work successfully as part of a team and have an organised approach to your work.
Experience in the use of computerised library management systems is desirable but is not an essential requirement for the role.
