Site Agent -Roads & Highways
Our client a tier 1 contractor have secured an enormous amount of work across highways and roads projects in the south/south east. They have continuity of work in the region for the next 6 years. We are looking for people with experience of major road construction and traffic management. This includes, earthworks, deep drainage, fencing, safety barriers, signs, kerbing, street lighting, layer works and asphalt.
Knowledge of NEC conditions of contract and raising/implementation of Early warnings, CE's, change programmes in conjunction with the commercial department. Use of CEMAR would be advantageous but not essential.Safety- Promote and lead safety on the site. Ensuring that the team generate, review and improve safety and culture on site and through RAMS etc.
Be a proactive manager in terms of leading and promoting safety culture ensuring that the systems are being followed.
Quality-Promote good quality practice, monitor and deal with NCR's. Ensure that Inspection &Test Plans are prepared and implemented. Quality records are maintained and as built records compiled as works progress in line with 'Right First Time Principles' Planning- Ensuring the works follow the project master programme.
Ensure that 3 weekly programmes are produced and resourced in line with Last Planner principles. Ensure that stage programmes, fully resourced are produced each quarter
Ensure weekly and monthly progress reports are fed back to planning and management
Manage resources in line with Quarterly Forecasts and manage subcontractors in terms of resource and programme. This includes liaison with the commercial team to monitor costs on an on going basis and take positive action as appropriate
Team Leader- Promote collaboration within the teams and different disciplines, collaboration with The Client and Designer, resolving technical issues quickly and efficiently to gain the best outcome. Liaison with community, external parties and stakeholders to maintain, enhance and promote relationships and reputations.
Actively participate in and encourage value engineering initiatives
