Temporary Accounts Assistant - Leeds

Sewell Wallis are currently recruiting for an Accounts Assistant on a temporary on-going basis. My client are a growing facilities management business, based on the outskirts of Leeds who due to recent developments and acquisitions are looking to expand their team. The role will report directly into the Finance Manager and will enable exposure to all aspects of accounts. This role is initially a short term role, however for the right person it may lead to a longer term contract. This is an exciting opportunity to join a company that encourage progression from within and is a market leader within its sector.

The main duties of the role will be -

- Preparing pay schedules and pay charts for self-employed employees
- Processing of petty cash in and out
- Daily upkeep of the purchase ledger - coding, matching and batching of invoices
- Bank reconciliation
- Preparing recharge information for the sales ledger
- Processing of purchase orders and credit card spend
- Working with the Company Purchases Order system
- Dealing with suppliers including incoming and outgoing phone calls
- Posting of cash payments
- Creating and maintaining Excel spreadsheets
- Making adjustments, handling queries and resolving problems within company guidelines and policy
- Month End closing procedures for cashbook and cash flow

The ideal candidate will -

- Be immediately available
- Have previous accounting experience, with the ability to go into a new business and hit the ground running
- Have the ability to work under pressure and produce quick and accurate financial information
- Have excellent attention to detail
- Have good Excel skills and be able to pick up new systems quickly
- Possess strong written and verbal communication skills
