Our client has an opportunity at their Bradford site for a Laboratory Analyst in the Quality Control Laboratory reporting into the Laboratory Supervisor. Working on a 4 days on / 2 days off shift rota, you will perform quantitative and qualitative chemical analyses according to established scientific methods to ensure the quality of the company’s raw materials, in process products, and finished products.  You will be responsible for carrying out QC analysis using a variety of techniques including HPLC and viscosity measurement, conducting routine analysis including the measurement of powder flow profiles, grading products and entering the results into the SAP system, performing routine maintenance and safety checks on laboratory equipment and promoting a high level of housekeeping in the laboratory. 

You will also plan, design, and conduct laboratory experiments to test the physical and/or chemical specifications of raw materials, in process products, and finished goods. Activities may include designing experiments, setting-up laboratory test equipment, calculating and analysing test results and preparing detailed reports with recommendations, applications, and conclusions.  You will take a lead role in method development and equipment specification projects.

 What you need: 

• Qualified to degree level Chemistry or a related subject.
• A good level of computer literacy, previous experience of SAP and HPLC techniques would be an advantage.
