Job Purpose

The Revenue & Revenue Deduction Specialist is responsible for the proper execution of Revenue & Revenue Deduction processes and accurate reporting of financial information to all users of information in accordance to IFRS, NAM (Novartis Accounting Manual) and to statutory and tax regulations and policies.

Key Responsibilities

- Provides services at expected levels with a clear customer focus and escalates exceptions.
- Provides functional guidance on revenue and revenue deduction perspective for business transactions.
- Is responsible for an on-time preparation of revenue and sales accruals and provisions following local regulations, NAM and IFRS.
- Closely collaborates with the NGSC, FRA Technical Accounting and Divisions to ensure accurate accounting and financial reporting.
- Closely collaborates with local ComOps, Supply Chain, Market Access and Legal in order to review Sales Contracts and supports in assessing the correct accounting treatment also in consulting the regional Technical Accounting Team for significant contracts and stays in close and regular contact with the NGSC.
- Proactively challenges the Status Quo and comes up with making fact based recommendations.
- Supports continuous improvements and process changes towards efficient and effective processes.
- Serves as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for revenue related policies and processes.
- Collaborates with key stakeholders, including accounting authorities/auditors.
- Supports the measurement and delivery of service levels and SLA/KPI targets.
- Responds to internal and external inquiries.
- Responsible for the provision of training / skill sharing to the business on key in country processes related to revenue.
- Manage day-to-day activities for Revenue and Revenue Deduction Accounting
- Actively contributes to the period-end closing and reporting in accordance with laws and Novartis required standards for UK and Ireland.
- Supports the balance sheet account reconciliations of allocated accounts and ensures timely resolution and cleans of overdue items identified.
- Ensures proper revenue accounting of financial transactions and accounting specific questions are well addressed and solved.

*Minimum requirementsMinimum Requirements

- University Degree in Economics/ Business Management/Administration/ Economics/ Finance (or equivalent) OR part qualified accountant
- Fluency in English (written and spoken)
- Proven financial experience, with in-depth functional expertise
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a multi-national organization SAP knowledge
- Previous experience in auditing, statutory and IFRS accounting Experience in supporting projects driving performance improvements
