Our client is recognised globally as a market leader in the delivery of innovative project solutions for a diverse range of architectural, entertainment and events applications, and as a result of continued success and an ongoing programme of strategic growth, they are now seeking to recruit an experienced and enthusiastic Mechanical Design Engineer to complement their established and highly successful team.

Based near York and reporting to the Head of Technical, the successful Mechanical Design Engineer will be an excellent communicator at all levels and will demonstrate a meticulous and diligent approach with a positive "can-do" attitude. You will possess the ability to prioritise and manage your own workload effectively and work on multiple projects at any one time whilst being skilled in creating unique solutions from concept design through to production and site installation within often pressurised time constraints.

Other responsibilities for this varied and challenging Mechanical Design Engineer role will include (but not be limited to):

• Providing mechanical design solutions for an array of projects
• Producing innovative 3D models and accompanying drawings
• Communicating with the project client to achieve the required solutions within the available budget constraints and acting as a senior representative of the Company at client meetings and on site
• Providing mechanical design solutions on projects and producing design briefs to allow fellow CAD Designers to undertake tasks before checking and approving drawings
• Managing project workload and advising the CAD Manager on resources required
• Providing technical support to the Production Team
• Assisting with risk management within Engineering and Technical projects both in the workshop and on site

To be considered for this genuinely exciting and unique Mechanical Design Engineer opportunity, it is envisaged that the successful candidate will realistically be qualified to at least HND level or above and essentially be fully proficient in the use of the MS suite of packages, whilst demonstrating at least 5 years' experience in the use of Autodesk Inventor within a technical or engineering environment. Knowledge or experience in the use of Autodesk Vault will prove distinctly advantageous.

Whilst experience gained allied to theatre, stage engineering or live events would also prove advantageous, you will essentially possess a good understanding of manufacturing processes and exceptional levels of attention to detail coupled with a driven approach and the ability to meet deadlines, multi task and prioritise effectively.

A flexible approach and the ability to work autonomously and as part of a team are essential for the role - as is possessing a valid UK driving licence.
