We are a truly digital newsroom, serving the people of Liverpool, Merseyside, and further afield, on our mobile and desktop sites, apps and social media channels.

With a specific focus on search and social trends, you'll be a self-starter generating and creating coverage on compelling topics.

Working Wednesday to Sunday - 7am-3pm - you'll be leading the trends coverage during the periods when our audience is at its peak.

Taking the lead on our advance news content writing, you will also boast superb organisational skills.

Role Responsibility

    Maximising opportunities for audience engagement and interactionAssisting with long-term planning, producing content ahead of major events and key calendar datesWriting about multiple topics and stories where audience determinesUsing Buzzsumo, Google Trends and other audience tools to produce content with clear trending opportunitiesAssisting with long-term planning when requested Pitching your own ideas in line with the site's brandTaking a creative approach to covering national and trending storiesSupporting the team with editorial responsibilitiesTaking direction from the Editor-in-Chief, Executive Editor and the content team over article creation and scheduling


The Ideal Candidate

You will demonstrate an excellent understanding of SEO techniques and use these to identify digital audience and content trends to drive audience numbers. Experience writing for a digital audience would be preferable, along with an up-to-date knowledge of media law and the Editors' Code of Practice.
