Learning Resources delivers a vital service in supporting learning and professional practice, providing high quality, accessible resources and responsive, innovative support services for staff and learners. There are currently three learning resources centres (LRCs) at Kingston College: the main LRC, the Undergraduate Centre and the LRC at the Creative Industries Centre. The Undergraduate Centre has been recently expanded and provides a variety of modern open access learning spaces.

We’re looking for a Resources Advisor to join us and work as part of the Learning Resources Team to provide a comprehensive collection of e-resources and print resources that meet curriculum requirements, matching the provision of the LRC’s books, e-books, online content and other resources to user needs as efficiently and effectively as possible. You will deliver LRC inductions to students, including sessions which enable students to develop information skills, such as using e-resources and referencing information sources.

Co-ordinating and implementing the acquisition of books and e-books, and the maintenance of resource collections so that LRC resource provision is relevant and accessible, you will play a key role in promoting awareness and access to LRC resource provision and working with curriculum staff to select and embed online content and print resources in curriculum delivery, to enhance the experience of learners.

The successful candidate will have experience of working in a library/learning resources centre, ideally within the education sector, will be qualified to at least Level 4 in the relevant subject and will be able to work independently as well as part of a team, you will have excellent customer service.

Capable of managing change and prioritising tasks effectively, you will work well with staff, students, parents and supporting staff and have good general IT skills, including familiarity with Word, Excel, PowerPoint and e-mail and a good knowledge of web-based applications.
