This is an opportunity to join a government-approved Cyber Security and IT Managed Service Provider, supporting clients 24x7x365 from their ISO27001-accredited UK Network & Security Operations Centre (NOC/SOC).

The Job:

You will work in both a project and support capacity. This includes designing, configuring, deploying, monitoring, diagnosing and troubleshooting network, server, telephony, security and infrastructure issues. There will be a requirement to work as required from client sites.

Location: NOC, Northampton

Salary: £24k-£32k D

Main Duties/Responsibilities:
- Take ownership of multiple projects ensuring timely updates and delivery of tasks.
- Projects will include the deployment of technology solutions for clients across their product portfolio including Monitoring, Cloud, Security and Networking.
- Maintain a good understanding of the functionality and structure of supported systems and clients.
- Provide pre-sales engineering to design and implement solutions in line with Best Practice
- Plan and carry out effective proactive system maintenance (both internal and client)
- Provide coaching and mentoring to a team of Engineers
- Identify and resolve incidents within agreed SLAs, and provide 3rd line technical support
- Ensure that unplanned outages & performance issues are minimised, and that sufficient capacity & disaster recovery provision is maintained to support agreed business needs.
- Ensure that all system changes follow company change management processes
- Production of process and documentation for the Service Desk to support all delivered projects
- Undertake activities on client site as required

Skills and experience:

The jobholder will need to be able to work to deadlines, think on their feet, take responsibility and work under their own initiative. An excellent inter personnel manner is essential, always adopting a clear, positive, friendly but decisive approach.

Essential:

- The ability to plan and prioritise your workload
- Proven track record of achieving results deploying and troubleshooting technology solutions
- Ability to work within a team
- Excellent standard of written and spoken English
- Experience in telephony, network (including WiFi), server, security and infrastructure diagnostics and configuration
- Must have excellent communication skills
- An active interest in software systems/engineering and/or system architecture
- A full UK driving license

Highly Desirable:

- Previous experience working for a Managed Service Provider (MSP)
- Experience of SQL, Firewalls, Advanced Routing and Switching
- Experience of working with senior managers and customers
- Experience using monitoring tools such as SolarWinds

Desirable:

- Experience of using Cloud Services i. AWS
- Experience of using SIEM security products such as LogRhythm
- A minimum of 5 years experience is required.

Desirable Qualifications:

- Relevant Infrastructure qualification (i. CCNA, MCSA)
- ITIL Foundation v3 Certification
- SolarWinds Certified Professional
