Bus Mechanic

Commercial Consultants (UK) Ltd - The Engineering Recruitment Specialists, are working closely with a market leading bus operator on an assignment to secure a permanent Trainee Bus Mechanic to be based in one of their North London Workshops.
Our Client is seeking Mechanics or Technicians who have a proven background within the automotive industry who wish to be developed and trained in order to become competent a Bus Mechanic.
The Trainee Bus Mechanic must have previous experience within vehicle inspection, diagnosis, maintenance and repair of vehicles such as cars, vans, trucks, LGV, HGV, buses, plant equipment or even aircraft.
After six weeks of paid intense theoretical and practical training, the successful Trainee Bus Mechanic will be expected to carry out:
* Servicing of PSV / PCV / Buses
* Repair and maintenance of Commercial Vehicles
* MOT preparation and inspections
* Diagnosing faults efficiently and effectively by road testing vehicles using the latest diagnostic and test equipment
* Rectifying faults on PSV / PCV / Buses
The work will involve maintenance, servicing and overhauling commercial vehicles and the Trainee Bus Mechanic must demonstrate the ability to work to the high standards set by this market leader along with VOSA and other stakeholders.
Possession of a full UK Driving licence is required and holding a PCV Licence would be an advantage, however driver training can be provided to the successful Trainee Bus Mechanic.
The Trainee Bus Mechanic must have served a recognised apprenticeship within Car / Van / Bus / PSV / HGV / Motor Mechanics or hold NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualifications in Light / Heavy Vehicle Maintenance and Repair.
