HR Officer
HPCareers are now assisting our awarding winning manufacturing client to recruit a stand-alone HR Officer.
Due to the continued success and growth of the business, we are now looking to appoint a HR Officer that can establish and run a dedicated HR business area.
This role will require you to develop and implement a HR strategy whilst being responsible for ensuring that a comprehensive HR service is provided throughout a multi-skilled workforce of approximately 50 employees, within an award-winning manufacturing company.
Summary of Responsibilities:
• Set-up a dedicated HR Generalist business area
• Working with Directors and Senior Management to produce a clear HR strategy
• Provide accurate and timely generalist HR advice and assistance to the business
• To implement and communicate the HR strategy across the business to educate the workforce on HR Systems, Policies, Procedures and Best Practice
• Remain up to date with employment legislation and updating and processes
• Support HR Projects, business change, systems, continuous improvement etc.
• Maintain, review and update the terms and conditions of employment contracts
• Liaise with external professional services including: Solicitors, Recruitment Agencies, Payroll Providers, Education Organisations etc.
• Negotiate terms and conditions with external service providers relating the HR business area
• Producing HR reports for the boards of Directors
• Delivering presentations to the business on the HR strategy, its progress, changes and training
Mentor Managers throughout the business on all HR Best Practices including:
• Maternity/Paternity
• Grievance
• Disciplinary
• Absence Management
• Recruitment
• Training and succession planning
• Company Values
• Employment Legislation
• Investigations
• Tribunals etc.
Deliver Recruitment & Training across the business:
• Manage recruitment budget
• Write job descriptions and create and maintain and JD library
• Advertise vacancies
• Telephone screening
• Interview coordination
• Mentor managers in interviewing techniques and best practice
• Producing offers - contracts of employment
• Management of company induction for new starters, participating as necessary
• Monitoring probation periods and approving them once past
• Obtaining and maintaining all employment references and proof of qualifications according to HR Best Practice
Learning and Development:
• Supporting a growing workforce
• Establishing a skills matrix and identifying development and training opportunities
• Developing a network of training / education organisations
• Internal succession planning
Essential Skills Required:
• CIPD qualified
• 5 years+ HR Generalist expertise
• Manufacturing HR experienced preferred
• HR Projects and continuous improvement
• Employee Relations Expert
• Up to date Employment legislation knowledge
• Recruitment and Induction experience
• Knowledge of GDPR, H&S and Quality systems
Company Benefits:
• Salary: GBP25,000 - GBP30,000pa
