Development Officer - Community Rail Norfolk - Norfolk-based - Excellent package

Our client, Community Rail Norfolk, has an immediate vacancy for a Development Officer to join this exciting local venture. They have asked Badger Associates to assist with the identification and appointment of this key role within the organisation.

Community Rail Norfolk exists to help successfully develop local rail services for the benefit of local communities, by fostering and championing a partnership approach between the railway operator and all stakeholders who benefit from a thriving train service. The essence of the role is to liaise with all partners, and the community, to develop and implement initiatives that increase use of the railways, and indirectly support local tourism and economic growth.

The ideal candidate will have previous experience of working within a similar partnership arrangement and will be able to demonstrate methods employed to achieve the stated goals. As well as working positively and proactively with partners, you will also possess the ability to attract and retain a team of volunteers to assist with the meeting Community Rail Norfolk's objectives.

Marketing and Communication skills are paramount, including the effective use of social media platforms as well as managing a budget to achieve media coverage through other marketing and promotional channels. The Marketing element of the role will be focused and measured on increased passenger numbers, increasing community involvement and supporting economic regeneration.

There will be a requirement to deliver a programme of presentations to schools and many other local groups to promote the role of rail in the community. Experience of working within community groups is also a key element of the role and essential for consideration.

The role carries an excellent starting salary of around GBP28,000 pa with additional benefits including free local rail travel and pension scheme. There may be some assistance available for qualifying relocation costs.

The post holder will be required to undertake a full DBS clearance.
