CMM Quality Engineer required for expanding aerospace manufacturing company based in County Durham.

Monday to Friday day shift.

Reporting to the Quality Manager the CMM Quality Engineer is responsible for Managing the customer quality inspection measurement requirements and expectations.

CMM Quality Engineer skills and experience:

* Substantial experience in a Quality Engineering role and/or Aerospace Manufacturing Environment using CMM.
* Knowledge of specific Metrosoft Quartis software and Wenzel CMM Equipment would be an advantage.
* Ability to read and understand customer drawings and specifications.
* Understanding of Geometrical Tolerance calculation and requirements.
* Effective management of own workload
* Self-motivated and confident when taking responsibility for all areas of work.
* Have extensive hands-on experience of quality inspection of engineered components
* Be an accomplished programmer of CMM in various software packages and a good understanding of AS9100 Rev D Aerospace standards

* Able to undertake problem analysis, good communication skills, ability to plan, organise and meet deadlines.
* Proficient in use of Microsoft Office, Excel and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities:

* CMM Inspection and Programming of Machined Aerospace parts and structures utilising our Wenzel CMM machine and Metrosoft Quartis Software.
* Work closely with the Project team to ensure conformance to customer requirements for all aspects of quality, safety and environment
* Assist and Control the required LAIRS and FAIRS requirements in line with the business needs.
* Liaise daily with the Operations teams to address CMM activity.
* Take part in Root Cause Analysis workshops investigating internal and external dimensional non- conformances. Be conversant in RCA tools and techniques including PPS, 5 Whys, Ishikawa, Pareto, Is/Is not Matrix.
* Work with other departments to implement and support cost reduction initiatives (scrap reduction, increased RFT, Customer specification improvements etc).
* Use and update failure modes and effects analysis(FMEA) to determine best resolution for issues.
* Liaison with supply chain to ensure the CMM is fully utilised and parts are sequenced and prioritised over a 24-Hour Period.
* Responsibility for all aspects of CMM quality control, Quality assurance compliance and inspection within the company to ensure our Quality KPI's achieve and exceed the Customer requirements.
* CMM Room 5S Standards and CMM Equipment PPM and Calibration requirements.
