Philips are looking for experienced Team Leaders to supervise a small team working on a production line that uses injection moulding to manufacture infant-feeding equipment.
Ideally, you will understand quality specifications and have a production background that covers Health & Safety, Quality and Manufacturing Processes.
In addition to a competitive salary, you will also receive a shift allowance as this role works from Friday to Sunday on a rotating shift from 06:00 to 18:00, and 18:00 to 06:00.
Week 1 - Friday 06:00-18:00, Saturday 06:00-18:00, Sunday 06:00-18:00
Week 2 - Friday 18:00-06:00, Saturday 18:00-06:00, Sunday 18:00-06:00.
This role is based in Glemsford, near Sudbury, so you will need your own transport to get there.
The full job description is as follows:
You are responsible for;
* Supervision of a production line team of up to 5 Team members. Initiate improvements and be responsible for safety within their specified working area. Escalating appropriately to nominated Production Supervisor.
* Ensuring your team are working to appropriate standard work and quality checks
* Ability to deploy and maintain risk assessments. Ensuring near misses are raised and resolved as appropriate
* Providing Safety inductions and training of all permanent and temporary staff in their area
* Work/role allocation of team to a delivery shift production plan
* Escalation of any Safety, Engineering, quality or material supply issues in their area (stop & fix)
* Maintaining and improving Lean, 6S and Standard Work within their area and driving daily improvements
You are a part of a group of team leaders. You will report into the production supervisor.
This position works 5 days per week from Monday - Friday, rotating from 6am-2pm, 2pm-10pm or 10pm - 6am.
Suitable applicants will have;
* Experience of managing cross functional Teams (Production Team Members, Engineering and Process Technicians) and varied production lines within a single shift.
* Ability to lead a team or managing processes within a production/manufacturing environment.
To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience;
* Practice of putting safety first, ideally have experience of drafting, updating and training out Risk Assessments.
* Able to work autonomously, taking ownership for making decisions within the parameters of Standard working practices and Company policy.
* Be able to work as part of a team or on their own initiative.
* Confident in use of Microsoft Word and Excel.
* Ideally experience of Lean manufacturing techniques or an understanding of Continuous improvement activities.
* You will be able to make independent decisions and take responsibility for your section.
