Role and Responsibilities

As part of a continued focus on developing and modernising our wider operational teams, we are looking for a Project Manager (Interim -one post) to join our Project Team.

Reporting to the Programme Manager, you will provide effective project management to key Onward-wide projects that supports the achievements of our business objectives ensuring project delivery on-time, within scope and within budget.

You will define projects in terms of scope and objectives and anticipated benefits, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring business justification for projects through to managing business readiness through effective engagement with stakeholders to ensure seamless transition to new ways of working, managing risks to the business, and supporting the embedding of changes.

Maintain positive relationships with the Project Sponsor and all stakeholders to drive project success and maintain focus on objectives, you will monitor and report on project progress, developing detailed project plans to track actions and delivery, and using appropriate change control techniques.  You will establish and maintain effective project steering group’s, ensuring the appropriate level of governance is provided, including provision of risk management expertise.

 

Key Skills

It is essential you have proven experience in project management with demonstrable understanding of critical path and dependency planning, resource planning and risk management. 

You should have excellent oral and written communication skills with excellent facilitation and presentation skills with the ability to lead/deliver confidently at all levels in an engaging way whether at meetings, workshops, or business change briefings. 

You should have experience of working with Business Process Analysts and an understanding of the role of business improvement. 

It is essential you have a Degree or commensurate experience in business related activity and a Project Management qualifications (Prince 2, APM, or equivalent) – Foundation level.
