VOLUNTEERING AND COMMUNITY COORDINATOR
Salary £22,223pa
A new and exciting opportunity within the Coventry University Students Union Volunteering Department has arisen to recruit an enthusiastic and vibrant individual who can coordinate and promote the provision of student volunteering.
The successful post holder will identify volunteer opportunities; support and advise Coventry University students volunteering activities, and to assist with the planning of events and projects. To carry out this role you will need experience of working in the voluntary or educational sector together with experience of developing volunteering activities.
You will have excellent literacy, numeracy and computer skills, including use of all Microsoft applications. You will also be highly skilled in administrative duties with the ability to develop strong links and partnerships within the HE sector, and the ability to motivate and engage students and volunteers.
Experience/qualifications
- Educated to ‘A’ level standard or equivalent
- Experience of developing voluntary activities or working on voluntary projects or schemes
- Experience of developing and training volunteers
- Experience of working with students or young people
- Experience of developing and coordinating a project or service
Responsibilities
- Develop volunteer resources to provide information, advice and ongoing support to individual and groups of students on the benefits, duties, tasks and nature of volunteering opportunities available.
- To provide a central service for students to take up volunteering opportunities on campus / community through promotion, recruitment, training, support, retention and recognition
- To coordinate the operation and development of projects including the Student Volunteer Team, Student Wardens Team and student led initiatives on campus and within the local community.
- To coordinate a range of committee initiatives including sustainability, mental health and wellbeing.
- Co-ordinate the development of marketing materials to promote activities and showcase impact to internal and external communities.
This post is permanent, working full-time 37.5 hours per week. A flexible approach to working hours is required.
