As a business we always need to recruit new people, and we are looking for additional help to make this happen as quickly and efficiently as possible. So we're looking for a Recruitment Advisor for our Hiscox UK & Ireland business unit on a six month fixed term basis.
The recruitment team is about two things - ensuring that the candidate has a good experience and is left with a favourable impression of Hiscox regardless of the outcome of their application and sourcing the best talent directly and efficiently.
This role will join our established Colchester based HR team and will report to the Head of Recruitment. The pace within this part of Hiscox is consistently intense and the successful candidate will need to balance rolling their sleeves up to manage the high volume of BAU work while delivering the recruitment strategy. You will be expected to recruit for a diverse range of roles from Underwriters to Regional Administrators to Claims Underwriters, working within the Broker channel and support functions (Claims, Operations and Finance).
You'll help promote best practise ensuring recruitment tools and processes across all stages of the recruitment life cycle (attraction, and selection) are upheld and enable us to attract, select and pipeline the best candidates. You will be expected to work collaboratively across the business, building and maintaining strong working relationships with people at all levels of seniority. It is a varied role, from directly sourcing candidates to providing bespoke advice on attraction and selection methods. This role is delivery focussed, and whilst demanding, is extremely rewarding. To succeed in this role, you'll need to bring enthusiasm and energy to everything you do. You'll be happy getting on with day-to-day activities but you'll also bring new ideas to the table. We're always looking for better ways to do things and you will be too.
A key part of this role is recruitment administration and you will handle all of the recruitment administration for the roles you are managing. Every week you will be arranging interviews, booking rooms and advertising our vacancies.
Candidate experience is one of our KPI's and you'll be instrumental in ensuring that our candidates leave with a positive view of Hiscox regardless of the outcome. You'll have to care about the candidate experience and not be bothered having to chase managers for feedback on candidates and CV's.
The Colchester HR team consists of a HR Manager, two HR Advisors (one Lisbon based), a Recruitment Advisor and an HR Assistant. We are a close and supportive team and while we enjoy a chat, we also like to get our heads down to plough through the high volume of work, meaning that the office can be quiet at times.
What you will be doing:
Sourcing direct candidates, effectively utilising internal advertising, LinkedIn, databases, job boards, advertisements, social media and networking opportunities
Building and maintaining a network of potential candidates through proactive market research and on gong relationship management
Continually seeking new sourcing options, and developing creative approaches to delivering candidates to the hiring manager
Generating a talent pipeline building a database of talent for future use
Partnering with hiring managers to deliver high quality candidate experience
Delivering against recruiting targets whilst ensuring great candidate experience and hiring manager satisfaction
Helping to develop our social media presence, specifically targeted at attracting future talent and raising awareness of Hiscox as an employer of choice
Tracking and monitoring recruitment spend
Managing the data in Peoplefluent, ensuring we get the best out of the system
Recruitment administration:
Arranging interviews, face-to-face, pre-recorded or by telephone
Sending psychometric tests to candidates (SHL, Watson Glaser Critical Thinking Test, OPQ)
Communicating with agencies, candidates, hiring managers and your HR colleagues
Managing the candidate experience through our applicant tracking system (we use Peoplefluent)
Provide interview and test feedback to candidates over the phone
Conducting a first sift of CV's rejecting candidates without the right to work in the UK, too high salary expectations etc.
Our must haves:
You'll be working with lots of different people both internally and externally so you will be great at networking and relationship building
Personable and engaging - your goal is to build strong relationships with internal stakeholders and candidates
You'll need to be talented at juggling lots of different projects, and stakeholders, with good influencing skills
Resilient and persistent - people will say no to opportunities and the volumes of open roles are high
Organised and flexible - as you will be managing high volumes of diverse roles
Ability to deal with ambiguity. It would be great if we had perfect information to work with all the time, but we don't, so you'll need to be comfortable managing this.
Sound judgement - and the ability to work on your own and use initiative when required
Recruitment administration experience and direct sourcing capability including search techniques across various online and social media platforms are a must.
