Hours: 30 hours per week over 4/5 days per week

Are you an experienced payroll manager looking for a new challenge?  The Dougie Mac Finance Department is recruiting a payroll professional to join their Finance team and administer the payroll for 330+ dedicated members of staff.

Job Responsibilities:

Process/ review monthly payroll changes - starters, leavers, salary increases, changes in hours, overtime, pension payments etc.  Resolve employee enquiries on all aspects of the payroll.  Calculate SMP, SPP, SSP & SAP entitlements.  Produce online payslips, P45s, P60s etc.  Ensure statutory deductions are reported by RTI, and paid over to HMRC on a monthly basis before their due dates.  Prepare year-end returns to HMRC.  Supervise the Payroll Officer, including responsibility for appraisal and development.  Provide reports and information in support of budget holders.  Provide timely Pension information to numerous pension providers (including the NHS), and ensure payments are made within the legal time frame.

Knowledge & Experience:

Excellent IT literacy and PC skills including Excel.  Relevant payroll qualification or relevant payroll experience.  Well developed interpersonal and communication skills.  Ability to meet deadlines, and achieve objectives under pressure.  Strong team player who uses initiative and diplomacy when liaising with internal and external stakeholders.  Attention to detail.
