My client, a majestic and sophisticated luxury 5* Hotel based in the heart of the city, offers a timeless hospitable experience to their guests! Due to their continued success and growth my client is now recruiting for an experienced Junior Sous Chef to work within their amazing brigade. To be considered for this position, you must have experience of working within a quality establishment or hotel.
Purpose of the role
Under the guidance of the Executive Chef or designate, you will be responsible for storage, preparation and cooking of food in the hotel, in line with company standards, policies and procedures and Food Safety legislation.Chef-de-partie Competencies and Qualifications required
- Must have similar experience working within a quality establishment.
- Be fully compliant with UK Food and Hygiene legislation.
- NVQ 1 & 2 in Professional Cookery, or equivalent experience.
- Be fully compliant with COSHH, CHIP and HACCP
- Artistic abilities.
- A flexible attitude.
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
- Must have the ability to multi-task while remaining focused on the goal.
- Be able to express creativity through food selections, preparation and presentation.
- Able to remain calm under pressure.
- Experience in all relative disciplines.
Chef-de-partie Key Responsibilities
- Must be fully conversant with current menus, recipes and preparations.
- Must be fully compliant with all food safety regulations and Kitchen procedures.
- Liaise with Sous & Junior Chef on daily tasks.
- Check events, restaurant and afternoon tea reservations for the day and prepare for service.
- Supervise the Kitchen and food service in the absence of the Executive Chef and Sous Chef.
- Store all food items correctly, label and dating each item.
- Maintain standards of cleanliness, hygiene and food preparation and presentation.
- Create and maintain a personal and respectful rapport with team members.
- Maintain the highest standard of communication with your head of department, and other departments.
- Foster and develop effective employee relations with all colleagues.
- Establish and maintain effective internal communications, attend briefings and meetings.
- Maintain appropriate standards of conduct, dress, hygiene and uniforms.
- Create/implement green policies and procedures to reduce waste and energy consumption.
- Perform any related duties and special projects as designed.
