Heywood, Greater Manchester
Salary: GBPCompetitive Plus Excellent Benefits
Hours: Monday to Friday, 08:30 - 17:30 (a degree of flexibility is required in order to meet the demands of the business)
We are looking for an Operations Manager to join the Management team at our Depot in Heywood which supports our Ambient activity.

WHAT WILL YOU BE DOING?
As the Operations Manager, you will be responsible for the transport operations at our depot in Heywood with a simple focus on People, Performance and Profitability.
- You will lead and manage our operational transport team focusing on operational efficiency; ensuring that our own fleet and sub-contracted assets are operated in a commercially viable way, achieving KPIs and meeting the Company's budget expectations and growth projections.
- You will participate in, and lead, meetings with customers, retailers and suppliers to manage and control the performance of the transport operation and the team; to ensure continuity and efficiency in line with relevant legal and compliance requirements and provide the highest quality service.
- You will create stability for a team that has experienced a period of change in recent years. There is already a clear vision defined by the current Management Team and you will support that vision through being a strong People Manager. Your responsibilities will include the coaching and development of your team and the shaping of a range of people related initiatives including recruitment, engagement and succession planning.
WHAT DO YOU NEED?
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- CPC National Road Haulage Qualification
- Proven experience of national transport operations management in the logistics industry
- Experience of managing and developing people
- Knowledge of major retailer, supply chain environments - Ambient specific
- Principles and methods of the FMCG industry, including the relative costs, charges and benefits
- Transport Health & Safety legislation
