Please Note:

* This is a 6 month contract
* Requires a full, clean, driving licence

Purpose:

* To contribute to the provision of a customer focused quality park and cemetery service
* To help manage, develop and enhance all aspects of contract and service delivery in area of responsibility.

Duties:

* Manage the continuous monitoring of contracts and additional specific contracts to ensure compliance with contract specifications
* Ensure that variations and additions to contracts are costed, agreed and implemented
* Conducts informal surveys and engages with the community on a regular basis to ensure that the service meets the needs of the customer
* Assist with the development of area based services and contracts to ensure that the service responds to the needs of the customer
* Develops materials and literature which communicate service developments and updates to the customer
* Liaises daily with contractor, stakeholders and partners to ensure excellent customer service is delivered
* Thinks laterally and solves problems, contributing to the successful development of the service
* Assist in the administration and control of area based budgets for contracts and services
* Contribute to the operation of budgets through assisting with the processing of payments to contractors
* Ensure effective operations of all contracts through liaison with contractors and managers and resolving contract disputes
* Develops effective working relationships
* Advises on the cost of new or amended services or service levels, contract procedures and standards
* Contribute to the development of parks and cemeteries through Capital projects and other development schemes
* Completes monitoring documentation and prepares reports on any issues and actions to be taken
* Records asset condition and maintains a database assisting with the commissioning of repairs and maintenance work
* Develops systems for recording of information and produces high quality reports on performance.

Person Specification:

* Essential Knowledge

1 Of parks and open spaces/cemeteries operations, service improvement and service standards
2 Health and safety practices and procedures and how they operate in parks and open spaces
3 Relevant legislation and how it relates to service delivery issues
4 Understanding of financial management, including budget and cash flow monitoring and the associated financial and administrative information systems
5 Contract management and monitoring

* Essential Experience

* Working with the public with the public and user groups to improve standards and develop collective ownership
* Management of contracts and contractors
* Financial management including estimating, budget preparation and control
* Of dealing with complex issues and thinking laterally to achieve a positive resolution
* Working in partnership with local communities, internal and external agencies, and other stakeholders
* Preparation of high quality written work and complex reports
