Represent the ICO at a senior level nationally and internationally as required, with stakeholders from across the government, public and private sectors. Act as the professional lead in this area and direct technology policy and innovation initiatives and issues across the ICO, serving as a catalyst for the continuous development of the ICO as a tech savvy and innovation friendly regulator. Develop engagement strategies with external organisations in this field which deliver new approaches to information rights practice. Act as the professional and strategic lead for information rights regulatory innovation matters across the ICO ensuring that the ICO keeps up to date with developments, is responsive, implements best regulatory practice and meets its commitment to be a model of good regulation.

With an appreciation of the impact of new and emerging information technologies coupled with keen awareness of "digital economy" developments and issues you will have: A track record and significant senior level experience of successful policy leadership with evidence of strategic planning and delivery of high quality outcomes. Significant track record of delivering innovation which supports growth of the digital economy and substantial experience in a high level representational and negotiating role. A demonstrable empathy towards data protection, freedom of information and the key ICO roles of educating and influencing, promoting good practice, addressing complaints and enforcing. Knowledge of the regulatory environment and the public sector generally, including the democratic, political and organisational framework.
