A leading energy supplier is looking for someone to lead their Energy Services team who provide energy saving advice and information on how to switch supplier to properties that have been empty and regarded as VOID. The Energy Service Team Leader will work closely with social housing providers, MOPs, MAMs, energy suppliers and internal stakeholders. The Energy Services Team Leader will ideally have an understanding of Voids management, and of the social housing sector, and have previous experience in a logistical, co-ordination role. Key responsibilities:
  • Delivery of energy services for the Voids Service, to support getting void properties fit for leasing, minimising rent loss and providing new tenants with affordable energy supplies.
  • Development of expertise and knowledge on voids management within the organisation.
  • Establishment of an energy services team to support the Voids Service.
  • Assist with identification and procurement of information systems to support the team.
  • Provision of excellent customer service to social housing providers
  • Liaison with suppliers to effect changes of tenancy to social housing providers
  • Co-ordination of refurbishment of social housing stock re: COS and COT
  • Co-ordination of MOPs and MAMs to ensure new tenants have easy and safe access to gas and electricity supplies
  • Co-ordination of communications around void properties, relating to energy saving advice and how to switch energy supply should they wish.
  • Ensuring prepayment meters are "wiped down" and previous occupants' debts are cleared.
  • Liaising with Smart Metering Teams to manage metering options for the void properties (Smart, credit, prepay???.)
  • With support, ensuring compliance with respect to health, safety and environment, consumer vulnerability, fuel poverty and data protection.
  • Maintain reporting and KPIs on the operation of the Voids Service
Skills and experience required:
  • Understanding of voids management and if possible the social housing sector
  • Good knowledge of energy industry processes is desirable
  • Experience in a logistical, service provider co-ordination role
  • Co-ordination of third party contracts and service level agreements
  • Organisational skills with proven ability to produce accurate work within tight deadlines
  • Practical approach to problem solving
  • Process improvement methodology expertise is beneficial
  • Numerical skills
  • Verbal comprehension
  • Microsoft Office proficient
  • Degree level (or equivalent), preferable
