LOCATION: Northampton or Milton Keynes (Field Based)
JOB TITLE: Battery Maintenance Technician
SALARY & BENEFITS: GBP21,000 with a review after 6 months' probation. A van, fuel card an ipad and iphone are provided.
WORKING HOURS: 8.5 hours (half hour unpaid lunch), Monday - Friday worked between 7am - 6pm (flexible start time)
THE COMPANY: Our client is the largest privately owned manufacturer of industrial batteries, systems and chargers in Europe. Founded in 1927 they have been developing and producing energy storage systems to German Quality Standard and offer a comprehensive range of storage batteries and is complemented by the very latest charging methods and monitoring units to form complete systems.
THE ROLE: As an Industrial Battery & Charger Engineer based around Northampton or Milton Keynes you will be repairing, charging and fault diagnosing customer battery fleets. Although this position will be field based around the Northampton or Milton Keynes postcodes, flexibility will be required to cover other postcodes when needed. There will also be occasional travel into the depot based in Stoke-on-Trent and the possibility of having to travel to other regions in the event other engineers need assistance.
Key Responsibilities of an Industrial Battery & Charger Engineer to include:-
• Responsible for the repair, maintenance and monitoring of customer batteries and chargers within customer forklift truck fleets.
• To prepare customer quotations for repair work in line with our client's regional business plan.
• To identify and advise customers regarding the management of their battery/charger fleets
THE CANDIDATE: The role of an Industrial Battery & Charger Engineer would suit a semi-skilled individual from an engineering background in diagnostics ideally dealing with chargers and batteries or high technology mechanical, electrical or electronic equipment e.g. fork lift trucks, generators, automotive machinery, electrical machinery, compressors, generators, switchgear or industrial cleaning machines. They must also have a willingness to travel, hold a UK driving licence and above all else the enthusiasm to be part of our client's plans for progressing and future planning.
Key experience essential for the role of Industrial Battery & Charger Engineer:
• Full UK clean driving licence (minor points considered)
• A basic command of Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Must have previous experience within a motive battery company
• Experience with MHE (Mechanical Handling Equipment) or plant machinery batteries.
