Director of Childcare, Health, Humanities, Science and Sport. Full Time, Permanent

We are one of the largest Further Education Colleges in the UK with more than 20,000 learners studying with us on a wide range of courses. Our mission is to equip people with the skills they need to be successful in education, in work and business and in their personal lives.

This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious individual to take on a key leadership role of a major curriculum area of the College.

Following restructuring the Area is expanding to take in Sport and Uniformed Public Services.  It will have over 1000 students studying across all income streams, including Higher Education.  The programme areas will include Education and Childcare, Health and Social Care, Science, Sport and Uniformed Public Services.

Working closely with the Vice Principal you will provide clear and authoritative leadership to create a new identity for the Area enabling teams to work together to ensure that curriculum delivery is of the highest quality, and first class support is in place to help all students achieve their potential.

Taking advantage of the College's strengths and track record in responding to local need, we also want you to build relationships and develop opportunities to grow high quality, sustainable provision and income, including full cost recovery programmes.

The skills, professionalism and dedication of our teachers and support staff have been critical to the College's success and you will provide the leadership needed to continue to motivate and engage your team within a challenging Further Education environment.

You will have the strategic vision and drive to grow a diverse and innovative area; a track record of leading teaching staff; and an overriding commitment to quality along with a clear understanding of career pathways for students and the needs of the sector. You will be educated to degree level or equivalent in one of the subject specialisms, hold a full teaching qualification and have experience of working as a curriculum manager with proven ability to lead and manage change and improvement.
