Our client now has an opportunity available for a Policy and Public Affairs Officer to join them to support the development of their policy positions. Establishing and maintaining excellent relationships with members and external stakeholders, you will support campaign activity by members and promote policy and public affairs work to the membership.

Maintaining a log of policy as evidenced by up to date and accessible documents, you will provide advice to members seeking information on their policy and public affairs agenda and must advocate for their members to resolve situations relating to public policy and NHS commissioning.

Of graduate calibre (preferably with a qualification in pharmacy, healthcare, communications management, policy studies or politics), the successful candidate will have demonstrable experience of working in Policy and/or Public Affairs ideally gained within the healthcare sector and will hold strong research and data analysis skills.

In addition, they look for the following skills:

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Strong relationship building and influencing skills

• Excellent attention to detail in analysing documents, reports and legislation

• Strong planning, prioritisation and organisational skills

• Excellent research skills

• Customer service experience

• Problem solving skills

• Computer literate with all major Microsoft Office packages
