Front of House Assistant    

32 hours per week worked over 5 days, although hours will be worked over a 7 day period during the Museum’s ‘open season’

£8 per hour

Under the direction of the Visitor Reception, Catering and Retail Supervisor ensure a high quality welcome, service and visitor experience in the restaurant and other outlets, including private hire and special functions.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities

• Work from one of three locations, as required (Limeburners restaurant, Fairmile Café and the Kiosk);
• Provide a warm welcome and exceptional visitor experiences at all times;
• Assist visitors by proactively providing accurate and relevant information on Museum facilities and activities, being knowledgeable and professional in approach;
• Ensure high standards of presentation and cleanliness in all areas at all times (food preparation areas, indoor and outdoor dining areas, service counters, food and beverage display areas, visitor facilities, indoor and outdoor storage areas);
• Maintain food and beverage displays, replenishing stock, in order to maximise sales potential;
• Assist with food preparation, as required;
• Ensure the safe and efficient use of equipment and resources at all times, complying with health and safety requirements at all times;
• Ensure food hygiene standards are adhered to at all times;
• Undertake cash handling and operate the till.
