Training and Engagement Officer (Skills Programme)
Our Client are a leading employment support and training services company, helping people to transform their lives and businesses through work, training, education and financial advice. They help people move into work by enabling them to gain the skills they need to make them employable, providing them with real work experience or helping them onto a traineeship or apprenticeship.
They have an exciting opportunity for a Training and Engagement Officer to join them where you will be based in Elephant & Castle, but would cover London, South East and Thames Valley.
Within the role you will focus on learner recruitment for their Sector Based Work Academies. Attending supply chain or local office team meetings to promote classroom based and skills programmes, you will be responsible for the engagement of learners, ensuring a minimum cohort of 12-15 learners per course. Managing courses and delivery in the absence of the Learning Mentor or Branch Manager, you will build and maintain good working relationships with referral partner key contacts, confirming enrolment and induction details when required.
They are looking for someone who has a good working knowledge of the unemployed provision and employer / learner engagement experience. With a recognised qualification in IAG at Level 3, or at least 2 years’ experience of working within a similar role, you will have a proven track record of achieving or exceeding targets in a similar environment.
Skills programme delivery knowledge would be advantageous, but is not essential. What is important is that you can work with a diverse group of learners, showing empathy whilst helping them to overcome complex and multiple barriers. A self-motivated individual, you will have excellent communication skills and will be able to motivate others to help them raise their self-esteem.
