Office Angels are currently recruiting on behalf of our client for a HR Officer/Advisor. This is a Full-Time role, located in Edinburgh, Office hours are Monday - Friday, 9am - 5pm. Salary competitive but depending on experience.

Job Description:

The key objective of this role is act as a professional representative of the client providing assistance and support to the Human Resources Manager ensuring all HR services are carried out timeously and efficiently.

General Responsibilities & Duties:

* Maintenance of employee records on the HR system.
* Maintenance of Firm policies and procedure
* Playing a key role in the recruitment process by drafting job specifications, posting vacancies, liaising with agencies and directly with candidates, co-ordinating interviews and attending as necessary.
* To issue new starter documentation including offer letters and contracts of employment.
* Co-ordination and delivery of employee, trainee and summer intern inductions.
* To manage the employee probationary review process.
* Payroll administration including the management of the purchase of holiday process.
* Pension administration.
* Providing training to users on HR System and other systems as appropriate.
* Co-ordination of work placements.
* Managing the organisation and co-ordination of trainee recruitment including attending law fairs, administering the PEAT 2 training programme, mentor meetings, seat rotations and all other related matters.
* Manage and co-ordinate the Firms Summer Placement Programme including the recruitment process, administering the training programme and acting on feedback as appropriate.
* Organisation & co-ordination of the Performance Review Process and Personnel Development Plans to assist in the development of the employees including training analysis.
* Co-ordination of CPD requests and memberships in line with firm procedures
* Co-ordination of both internal and external training including the organisation of the Firm's Training Academy.
* To advise partners and employees on Firm policies and procedures.
* Assist in preparation of regular statistical reports on HR data including starters, leavers, turnover, recruitment campaigns, sickness etc.
* Involvement in and organisation of various ad-hoc HR projects
* To co-operate proactively and effectively with your colleagues and other team members and wider teams throughout the firm.

Experience, Skills, Attributes Required:

* It is expected you will have at experience in a generalist HR role. Experience in the legal industry or the wider professional service industry is desirable.
* Have excellent communication skills with the confidence and ability to build and maintain collaborative working relationships both with internal and external parties.
* Be proactive and should be a self-starter, as well as an excellent team player with the ability to motivate other members of the firm where appropriate.
* Have the ability to effectively plan and manage a high and varied workload.
* Be willing to work in conjunction with the Partnership to achieve Firm goals.
* The ability to re-focus aims and priorities to meet changing business needs where appropriate.
* To keep up to date with developments in employment legislation and human resources best practice, knowledge sharing within the team to ensure continuous development and improvement.
