Street Homeless Services Opportunities
London
Salary scales: £26,025 - £31,142pa

This is an exciting time to join our client as they are now at the halfway stage of their five year organisational strategy. Their ambition is to end homelessness and they are working hard to reverse the increase in people sleeping rough in England. In the areas where they work, they aim to halve the number of people sleeping rough by 2021. To support this ambition they are expanding their services to people sleeping rough, across London and the South East/West of England. Moreover, the government has recently announced additional funding to boost the immediate support available to people living on the streets. They believe this could result in more opportunities to work with them and make a difference in support of people who are street homeless.

They have a variety of job opportunities available, such as Outreach Worker, Housing First Worker, and Assessment & Reconnection Worker.

As one of the largest providers of outreach services for people who are sleeping rough in England, they go out at night and in the early mornings to meet people sleeping rough and to help them to move away from the streets. Their first priority is to get people off the streets and into accommodation.
No Second Night Out focuses on helping people who are new to rough sleeping on the streets of London. Their challenge is to help them off the streets quickly and, through their assessment hubs, help them find alternative accommodation so they don’t have to sleep out for a second night.
Their Housing First service provides intensive personalised support to clients who would not typically be deemed as ‘housing ready’. It focuses on finding these individuals long-term accommodation first (sourced by the Local Authority) and then addressing the issues that contributed to their homelessness.
To fill them, they are looking for people that have talent and who share ambition. They are seeking candidates with some experience of dealing directly with the public and/or customers in a busy service environment and experience of working effectively with others to get things done.  Candidates will need to have some understanding of the issues faced by homeless or vulnerably housed people and the difficulties they experience in accessing services that are fully responsive to their need.

Your experience is far less important than your attitude.  The fact that you are intelligent, adaptable, with a ‘can do’ attitude and a determination to make a difference.

If you think you fit the brief and can see yourself helping them to achieve this aim, they would like to invite you to come and meet them at one of their Open Days.  This will give you an opportunity to learn more about them, their staff and the different roles on offer, as well as ask them questions.

They look forward to meeting you!
