Are you interested in a career in social care? Whether you have years of experience or want to get your foot in the door, we have great opportunities for you in the Boston Spa area at a residential home owned by with a fantastic not-for-profit local care provider. They are looking for support workers to work alongside a highly skilled staff team to provide support to 5 young adults with complex learning disabilities and improve their quality of life.
The Job
As a support worker, you would work under the direction of the senior support team to ensure that the young people under your care are receiving the highest quality assistance in order for them to live happy and healthy lives.
Your main aim as a support worker is to treat all residents with respect and dignity. Some of the young people in the home have very complex learning disabilities, meaning this is a hands on care role that will require you to undertake personal care training. This company will provide 100% of your training, at no cost to you, that will provide you with a variety of key care skills that will kick-start your career in health-care. So, if you're looking for an organisation who'll help you to your first step in a new job and support you the rest of the way, look no further. Additionally, you will be expected on occasion to take the residents out of the home and into the community to do activities such as attending concerts, going horse-riding etc. so energetic and active applicants are encouraged to apply!
Once you begin working as a support worker, you will be given opportunities to pursue further training and development - this could be studying for an NVQ or taking on a more senior post - so if you really want to start a long term career, this is the role for you.
We currently have various contracts at this service 16-39 hours so don't delay in applying. The starting pay rate is £8 opportunities to earn more if you take on a position of leadership. The full list of employment benefits you will receive include:
- Complete training in a variety of areas (learning disabilities, epilepsy, mobility)
- Annual leave entitlement over the statuary average
- An employee support system to look after your well-being (includes face to face counselling)
- Child care support
- Cycle to work scheme
- Generous pension scheme
