Location: Meadow House, Littleworth, Mansfield, Notts, NG18 2TB

Nottinghamshire is the 11th largest local authority in the country and has a large children and young people’s Social Care Service. We are now in a position to offer a part time post for an Occupational Therapy Assistant working 3 days a week. This is a county wide post working as part of the Integrated Children’s Disability Service, Occupational Therapy Team based at Meadow House.

The Occupational Therapy Service works with and alongside other teams in the Integrated Childrens Disability Service providing specialist assessments for children and young people up until they are 18 years of age who have a disability which has a substantial adverse effect on their ability to carry out normal day to day activities. The service aims to promote a child’s independence, safety and welfare within their own home and/or short break environments by provision of equipment, adaptation solutions, education and support to carers following an assessment of need.

You must have an interest in working with disabled children and young people and be prepared to work collaboratively with their families, carers and wider agencies.

You must be a highly motivated and committed worker who is capable of working on your own initiative and as part of a team. You will need to be flexible in order to meet service demands.

Experience or an interest in working with children or in Occupational Therapy is preferred, as is an understanding of safeguarding. A high level of support will be provided by the OT team manager to ensure the service meets standards in respect of customer service and secures the best outcomes for the children and their families.

Closing Date: 22 June 2018

Disabled applicants who meet the essential shortlisting requirements will be guaranteed an interview.  A job share scheme is available for all full time posts: both permanent and temporary, unless otherwise stated.  We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults and we expect all staff to share this commitment and undergo appropriate checks.
