The Public Protection Department of Stockport Council are looking for a Hygiene Action Labourer to support the team for a 3 month period.
Stockport M B C are pro-active in ensuring that all residents and visitors in the Borough enjoy a safe and healthy living environment.
Public Protection is responsible for fulfilling this requirement for a wide range of environmental protection issues.
If you are motivated, reliable, trustworthy, dependable and flexible in your approach to work and enjoy working in a small team environment and having direct involvement in tackling environmental issues and working with the Residents within the Stockport Community, then this job could be for you.
Working alongside Pest Control and Enforcement Officers you will be involved in delivering a number of essential public health activities to include pest control/culling, sewer baiting, drain cleaning, graffiti and fly posting removal and cleaning, commercial cleaning such as house clearances, fly tipping and unauthorised/dumped rubbish removal, working at heights to install pigeon proofing and investigating some pest control requests.
The job requires manual lifting on a daily basis and you must have a good level of fitness. You will sometimes be working in difficult or unpleasant conditions and you must have the ability to deal with diverse situations. A uniform and personal protective equipment will be provided for your safety. You will also be required to have a full driving licence and the ability and experience to handle and tow a trailer.
