Head of Data Engineering

You will be responsible for data engineering within the organisation; using your expertise in the field to support this data driven business. Reporting to the CTO, you will take ownership of ensuring timely efficient and cost effective data processing and storage technologies are in place to allow the team of analysts to deliver high value business insights. As a skilled practitioner you will be reliably acquire business data from disparate sources and make it optimally available to the business within the data warehouse. You will be a data and technology evangelist, working to: champion the everyday importance of data to the organisation, participate in the development of tooling and techniques for data acquisition and processing and support the long term strategic development of data teams, techniques and technology., * Design, maintain and further develop data ETL/ELT processes using cloud technologies * Maintain and develop the cloud based data warehouse * Evangelise data and assist the business with understanding and maximising the value of data in accordance with its goal and mission * Assist with wider business data system maintenance and strategic development Technical Skills * Production experience designing, maintaining and developing with modern cloud based ELT/ETL techniques and technologies * Production experience maintaining and developing a cloud based data warehouse- Red Shift, Big Query, Snowflake or Similar. * Production experience working with MySQL RDBMS (or similar) * Experience with Proof-of-Concept/evaluating ETL, warehouse or other cloud based data technologies * Experience with cloud based BI/MI and data visualisation techniques and tooling * Experience with data analytics full stack design and implementation
