Job Title: Account Manager

Salary: GBP20,000 - GBP22,000 + excellent benefits

Location: Manchester

Have you gained commercial experience in the Utilities industry? Are you a good relationship builder? An Energy Supplier is currently looking for an Account Manager to be responsible for overseeing the day to day account management and administration for the gas, electricity and water supplies for a portfolio of customers within the Group. The successful applicant will be required to have gained some experience in Customer Service or Account Management within the Utility industry and have excellent communication and numeracy skills. Responsibilities will include:

  • Ensure monthly collation of energy data in order to raise the relevant utility charges.
  • Register, process and pay all utility invoices to the required standard
  • Liaise with both suppliers and customers to both adopt supplies and resolve any issues and queries that may arise throughout the life of the contract.
  • Proactively work with potential customers (both internal and external) to secure new energy business in line with our agreed targets.
  • Arrange site visits with customers/suppliers/colleagues where necessary.
  • Establish effective working relationships and provide cross departmental support to resolve on site issues.
  • Help to develop, update and maintain the company's energy management software and billing system.
  • Analyse energy consumption data to identify excessive use and initiate remedial action as part of our commitment to reduce carbon emissions.
  • Create BACS runs in conjunction with the Finance department.
  • Any other duties commensurate with the job as requested by the Operations Manager.

Skills and Experience Required:

  • Good all-round knowledge of the utilities business
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office - particularly Excel
  • Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written)
  • Excellent numeracy skills
  • Positive disposition and a 'can do attitude'
