Are you worried you’re going to be working that ‘9 to 5’ until you retire?  Do you love the thought of making a genuine difference to someone’s life?  Whether you’re looking for a full-time role where flexibility is no issue or you’re looking for a position that fits around your other commitments, this could be just the role for you.

Following the coming together of Autism Sussex and Pepenbury, Aspens is united in offering over 100 years of experience in helping children, young people and adults with a range of disabilities, those on the autism spectrum, and/or those with complex needs. Through the provision of highly personalised support, we aspire to enable people to learn new skills, live life to the full and contribute to society however possible.

Due to service demands, we are looking for a Community Support Worker to join our dedicated team to help our service users live happy, fulfilling and independent lives.  No day will be the same; you could be supporting our service users with their morning and/or evening routines, accompanying them to appointments, even taking them to the cinema, on holiday or other fun-filled activities!

If grades weren’t your strong point at school, that’s not a problem.  Neither is the fact that you may not have previous experience in the Care Sector. If you do, that’s great but we’re just as interested in your life skills and passion to provide emotional and practical support to our service users.  You’ll need resilience and lots of empathy and as you’ll be travelling from home to home, working autonomously will suit you.  You’ll also have access to a vehicle or be willing to use public transport.

If you’re new to ‘care’, this is a great opportunity to step on to a career ladder.  We’ll support you to attain the Care Certificate within your first 6 months and we’d encourage you to gain a Diploma in Health and Social Care.  Whatever your experience though, we never tire of developing our employees’ professional skills through a selection of mandatory and specialist training and there’s a clear career structure in place for those who really want it.

We have various hours available so if you would like to apply for this position, please send your CV, together with a covering letter detailing your availability.
