IT Technician

Staffordshire based established Energy player (Gas Solutions) – close to M6 /Stafford-  looking to recruit IT Technician.

This role is predominantly office based.  Visits to client premises/sites will be infrequent but could involve overnight stays.

Key Responsibilities

Provide a Desktop Refresh Service that is timely and uniform in manner

1st line Desktop Services across the UK and US Offices (125 UK users/15 US)

Maintain all IT equipment as required by the User.

Install and configure appropriate software and functions according to specifications

Develop and maintain local networks in ways that optimize performance

Ensure security and privacy of networks and computer systems

Provide orientation and guidance to users on how to operate new software and computer equipment

Organize and schedule upgrades and maintenance whilst limiting downtime.

Perform troubleshooting to diagnose and resolve problems utilising 3rd parties to provide timely resolution where appropriate.

Identify computer or network equipment shortages and place orders

Maintain multifunction network printers and consumables

Liaise with 3rd party suppliers

Manage and maintain phone system

Manage and maintain Active Directory

Maintain a daily Backup

Manage and maintain Wi-Fi access points for visitors

Provide maintenance of Office 365 infrastructure

The Person

Essential skills:

Exceptional customer service and confident communication skills

Enthusiasm and willingness to learn

Experienced with Microsoft Server and Desktop operating systems

Experienced in using Microsoft Office 365

Experienced in using Desktop operating systems

Experienced in Networking infrastructure, LAN and WAN

Excellent teamwork skills

In-depth understanding of client set-up and configuration.

Experienced in configuring VoIP Telephone systems

Provide a helpdesk solution that acts as the primary resource for users to log all issues requiring IT department resource.

Provide clear, responsive and proactive communication as required to all users requiring assistance.

Desirable skills:

Previous experience working in an Engineering environment with multiple CAD users.

In return for your Technician skills the salary on offer is £22k to £25K (dep on exp) + comprehensive benefits package to inc 25 days hols + Bank hols.  On-site car parking/restaurant facilities.
