Purchasing Assistant Job Description
As part of a small team you will be required to implement the most effective purchasing arrangements for our customers.
You will assist the Purchasing Manager in the creation and implementation of KPI's along with the development and implementation of a corporate purchasing policy to ascertain the best value for money arrangements available.
You will work closely with Purchasing Manager, assisting them in aspects of their duties whilst also undertaking duties of your own, which include;
* Responsible for purchase administration and order processing using an ERP system
* Monitoring stock levels sourcing suppliers for restocking
* Liaising with production to ensure that products are scheduled and delivered on time to meet production/customer requirements
* Reviewing of order acknowledgements resolving and communicating potential issues
* Expediting materials from suppliers ensuring on-time delivery in full to the specification required
* Assisting the Purchasing Manager in project costing reports
* Researching new suppliers liaising with Engineering
* Preparation of tender documents
* Detailed analysis/evaluation of offers, suppliers and inventory
* Negotiating pricing and delivery times with suppliers
* Awarding and maintaining contracts with vendors
* Assisting in the development of key suppliers
* Developing the inter company supply chain
* Maintaining the Purchasing Department filing system
* Liaising with Account Department on payment/invoice matters
* Control and issuing of drawing revisions to suppliers
* Communication and closure of NOC's (Notice of Change)
* Issuing and follow up SFR's (Supplier Feedback Reports) and debit notes
