This is an opportunity to join a UK based B2C and B2B multi-channel e-commerce company. This company was established in 2010 to build on the group expansion into the online consumer market. The group has extensive experience within product development and on the strength of this has opened branches and developed brands in America, Canada, France, Germany and Italy. They have an exciting opportunity for an ambitious, passionate and experienced software developer to join their e-commerce company working with many own brands in their UK head office.

Main summary of the role

You will be a core member of a UK and overseas development team making significant contributions to their web platforms and will accept some delegation for management and development decisions.

Key Responsibilities

- Communicate effectively with IT team members within their UK head office and overseas headquarters to ensure a timely completion of development projects.
- To ensure there is a development plan which is followed through which meets the development tasks requirements.
- To conduct system maintenance, and accurately diagnose any issues and provide appropriate solutions.
- To be effective at writing clean, correctly formatted, effective codes which will optimize their program capabilities.
- To be solution driven to issues that may arise, and be able to put together strategies to solve.
- To conduct unit and back end system testing to rectify any issues that may have been overseen, and to provide strategy and updates to rectify the issues.
- To ensure the UK general manager and the IT contacts in our overseas headquarters are kept updated.

Qualifications and Skills
- 2+ years of experience in software development and related fields.
- Proven Track Record of software and web development.
- A solid understanding of how web applications work including security, session management, and best development practices as well as eCommerce platforms such as Magento, WooCommerce etc.
- Adequate knowledge of relational database systems, Object Oriented Programming and web application development.
- Basic knowledge of Search Engine Optimization process.
- Aggressive problem diagnosis and creative problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, learn rapidly and master diverse web technologies and techniques.
- Experience with technology related to web development, such as Javascript, Jquery, php, CSS etc.
- Experience in one of the databases, such as Oracle, SQL server etc, and proficient in writing SQL scripts.
- Previous work experience in any ERP, OA, WMS and CRM projects would be an advantage.
- Previous work experience in E-commerce and E-commerce business processes.
- Excellent initiative.
- Degree in computer science is preferable but not essential.
