This national cultural organisation is looking for a HR Officer, based in Edinburgh to provide an effective Human Resources service to all employees of the organisation to ensure they receive the support they require to meet the strategic aims and objectives of the organisation. Reporting directly to the HR managers, this role will be responsible for providing the HR managers across a wide range of HR duties.

Responsibilities Include:

- Provide support for the HR Managers across the range of HR duties.

- Support managers with the recruitment process.

- Respond to queries on HR policies and procedures from internal and external customers, providing timely, accurate responses, and escalating where appropriate.

- Prepare and issue standard employment contracts and other contractual documentation.

- Update and maintain electronic and paper based records as required ensuring a high level of accuracy and confidentiality.

- Be responsible for checking the accuracy of all HR data and highlighting problem areas, so that the relevant managers can address the issues.

- Produce accurate HR data reports, to enable managers and staff to make effective and informed decisions on HR matters.

- Be responsible for the effective and timely communication of HR information/

updates across a variety of communication channels.

- Be responsible for the administration of National Museums' pension schemes.

- Commit to good health & safety and access practice .

What Skills You Will Have

- Chartered Institute of Personnel & Development (CIPD) Certificate in Personnel Practice (CPP), or knowledge gained through equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 3 Highers or equivalent, one of which must be English.
- Knowledge of HR Information & Communication Technology (ICT) systems.
- Knowledge of Human Resources (HR) policies and procedures.
- Ability to use an HR / ICT systems and produce reports.
- ICT skills in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
- Ability to work effectively on own initiative and as part of a team.
- Ability to communicate effectively with staff and managers at all levels
