WR Fundraising Recruitment is proud to be working with an inspirational, regional charity in recruiting for a newly created Head of Philanthropy and Partnerships.
This is a truly exciting time for the charity with a new SMT, development / fundraising strategy and future plans to redevelop their facilities - therefore substantially increasing the services on offer.
As such, we're looking for an experienced fundraising professional to manage small trusts and major donor teams (with a budget to expand) while being personally responsible for a high value and diverse portfolio of fundraising partners.
There will be the opportunity to spearhead a capital fundraising appeal that already has a very solid launching point (seven figures) and to create your own strategy to further develop the fundraising success of the charity.
Head of Philanthropy and Partnerships
Welwyn Garden City, Herts - with excellent London commuter links
Full Time, Permanent
Salary Negotiable on Experience
Excellent range of benefits which include flexible and home working
Duties to include:
• Lead and develop our existing Trusts and Foundations portfolio
• Responsible for developing and implementing an ambitious major capital appeal
• Manage a high value and diverse portfolio of fundraising partners including some complex relationships.
• Oversee the development, implementation and review of the restricted fundraising strategy and annual plans
• Research, plan, develop and coordinate a major capital appeal, as and when needed
• Personal responsibility for delivering income from a portfolio of major value trusts and other grant-makers
• Ensure a robust pipeline of trust and grants prospects are identified, researched and cultivated by team members
• Research, identify and develop cultivation plans for relevant major value trusts and other grant- makers.
• Develop and manage relationships with a portfolio of major value trust and grant- makers to build their understanding of, and engagement with, the charity's work
• Ensure an appropriate mix of inspiring events and activities to support prospecting, engagement, stewardship and donor recognition is delivered.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experience fundraising manager who relishes a challenge. You will have a proven track record in developing strategies, achieving KPI's / Targets and managing key relationships with trusts and other grant giving bodies, HNWI and other major donors
The ideal candidate will have:
• Experience of developing and implementing trust, foundation and major donor programmes.
• Experience in implementation of meaningful sustainable partnerships.
• A track record of meeting significant income targets for both restricted and unrestricted programmes
• Successful track record of income generation from Trusts, Big Lottery Fund and other grant-makers and/or HNWIs (minimum five years)
• Personally securing significant donations or grants (at least 5 and 6 figure) from trusts, institutions and/or HNWIs
• Proposal and report writing, researching and cultivating relationships with key prospects and stewarding relationships with major value supporters
• Line managing staff and/or volunteers, preferably in a fundraising environment
