They have a vacancy for a Laboratory Assistant to work in their Chemical and Analytical Technology department.
Working in a busy laboratory environment the successful applicant will be required to support the CAT team by preparing and photographing samples prior to analysis, placing orders with suppliers for routine consumables and occasionally assisting with simple routine chemical testing. The role involves working methodically and using a high level of attention to detail when preparing, filing and storing samples and job folders.
Candidates must have GCSE or equivalents in English, Maths and at least one science subject at Grade C or above.
This role requires candidates to be able to work independently as well as part of a team in a safe manner observing risk assessments and wearing appropriate protective clothing when required. The candidate must also have a methodical and logical approach to work.
Flexibility, tenacity and a 'can-do attitude' are key requisites of the role. Within the guidelines of the flexible working system, candidates should be able and willing to work their contracted hours between the hours of 7am and 7pm if required.
