Lottery Funding Manager

Sport England's vision is that everyone in England, regardless of age, background or level of ability, should feel able to engage in sport and physical activity. We know that certain demographic groups, in particular, some women and girls, black, Asian and minority ethnic groups and some LGBTQ people, are not participating as much as others.

Sport England’s Towards an Active Nation Strategy has resulted in a wider and more challenging remit which has required changes throughout the organisation. The Funding Management Team is evolving to provide a greater level of support and expertise to the rest of the organisation to ensure we find really good project idea’s. We are looking for outstanding individuals to help us expand the expertise of the Funding Management Team to enable us to extend our reach to new audiences.

You will be one of 17 Lottery Funding Managers, reporting to a Head of Funding Management, within the Funding Management Team. The role will be deployed across all areas of funding, including project engagement, grant processing, and project performance. You will have excellent analytical and research skills enabling you to reach sound judgements based on available evidence and be able to communicate those judgements effectively, both verbally and in writing. You will have a strong eye for detail and be experienced at ensuring policies and procedures are adhered to. You will be organised with strong administrative skills to support the effective delivery of funding programmes whilst managing a diverse portfolio of work.

Experience of grant funding, in particular, assessment and decision making, would be a significant advantage, as is the ability to identify solutions to achieve results. While experience of working in sport is not essential a passion for making a difference is.
