ABOUT THE ROLE
Cover all aspects of day to day running of the Warehouse and Customisation Facility, to fulfil customer orders in a timely and accurate manner to meet Quality Standards and achieve Service Level Agreements and departmental KPIs. Manage inspection of all in-coming materials / products.

KEY ACTIVITIES
Resource Allocation

  • Supervise the day to day activities of a warehouse department ensuring excellent customer service, high productivity, scheduling staff and ensuring a safe work environment
  • Manage and coordinate the smooth running of all on site customisation machines, ensuring peak performance is achieved
  • To adhere to the company’s Equal Opportunities policy and Dignity at work policy in all activities and to actively promote equality of opportunity wherever possible
  • Monitor all activities within the Warehouse and Customisation Facility, to ensure the efficient allocation of duties
  • Rotate staff in accordance with current standards
  • Conduct regular one-to-one meetings, plus employee appraisals

Controlling Internal & External Material Flows

  • Be responsible for the goods in / out process ensuring materials and goods are handling in a safe and orderly way
  • Plan and co-ordinate the incoming goods, storage and dispatch of items in a timely and efficient manner to achieve your team objectives and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), as determined by the Warehouse Manager
  • Liaise with the carriers used to ensure efficient delivery to customers

Stock Analysis & Control

  • Be responsible for ensuring that the quality of the product and service within the Warehouse is maintained at the highest possible standards for the customer
  • Ensure the quality of the product and storage condition is maintained at the highest possible standard
  • Maintain the accuracy of stock always using stock rotation and by promptly investigating any stock discrepancies
  • Maintain quality, batch control and traceability of stock and to ensure the department operates to the quality manual
  • Organizing and ensuring accurate and periodic cycle counts and stock takes.
  • Handle and administer all third world stock
  • Ensure effective, safe, accurate and timely stock management to include space allocation, stock transfer and dealing with non-confirming product
  • Check all goods returned in accordance with the goods return policy
  • Manage the association of all products to the correct barcodes were applicable

Other Duties

  • Liaising with other departments within the business group to ensure the common goal is achieved
  • Responsible for your own health and safety and that of your colleagues, in accordance with the company’s’ Health and Safety policy
  • Responsible for site security as well and a key holder for the site
  • Adhere to the company’s Quality policy and Environmental policy
  • Maintain always a system of document control and archiving
  • Prepared to undertake any internal / external training as required
  • Carry out internal audits when required
  • Flexible as possible with working hours at times of heavy workload
  • Undertake other duties as may be reasonably required

KEY SKILLS:
The candidate should show key warehousing knowledge and skills, with experience of supervising others to problem solve and evolve teams and facilities that they work.

Essential

  • Supervisory experience of a large team within a warehouse environment
  • Experience in using digital warehouse stock control systems
  • Computer literacy
  • Working knowledge of using word processing and spreadsheet packages

Desirable

  • Bendi forklift certification
  • Warehouse system experience e.g. SAGE, SAP
  • First Aid trained
  • Warehouse relevant training, COSH etc
  • Team management training

KEY WORKING RELATIONSHIPS
Internal:

  • Team of 14 working at the Taffs Well Warehouse
  • Working closely with other internal departments to ensure a quality service maintained

External

  • Meeting and communicating with product suppliers, couriers acting on behalf of the business, plus any other visitors to the Taffs Well site

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

  • People: 13 Direct reports
  • Budget / resources: Ensure the correct method of carrier is used, plus effectively control stocks to reduce loss
  • Must be able to commute to the Taffs Well site, plus also be open to travel elsewhere within the UK
  • Measure of Performance: Number of complaints received regarding incorrect despatches. Number of complaints received regarding maintenance of Warehouse

Hours of Work: 37.5 hours per week between the hours of 7.00am – 6.00pm Monday to Friday with a 30-minute unpaid lunch break. Additional hours may be required to meet business need
Salary up to £25,526 gross per annum which is dependent on experience and may be staggered on completion of management training
Eligible to benefit from a £1500 time and attendance bonus
